Road Trip

During our trip to Reno Bobby and I took a little road trip to Lake Tahoe.  We stopped in a cute little resort town called Truckee.  We shopped on main street and loved the charm of this little town.  We then continued on to Lake Tahoe.  There were quite a few people out but no one was in the water.  It was warm but not that warm.  We couldn't believe all the awesome houses on the lake.

Here are some silly pictures we took at the lake.  The water and the sky were both crystal clear.  It was such a pretty drive!

The Biggest Little City In The World

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I hope you had a great holiday.  We had a great time in Reno this weekend.  It was my first time in Reno and it was so much fun.  It was great seeing everyone and hanging out at Lisa's house.  Lisa made a great Thanksgiving dinner.  We spent a lot of time in the casinos.  Bobby played craps with his dad while I stuck to the penny machines.  Bobby and I went on a few little road trips which was really fun too (more about that later).  Here are a few pictures from our trip.  Thanks for being such a wonderful host Lisa!

Here is the Grand Sierra Resort where we stayed in downtown Reno

Bobby, Tom, and Rob passed out on the couch at Lisa's

Twilight

The Twilight movie is finally here. I went to see it Saturday with Mom, Beth, and Breanna. I really liked it. Yes, there are a few things left out that I wish would have been in the movie like the blood typing stuff. I also missed getting to know Bella's sarcastic side and a little more romancing between the two. Edward was better than I expected. Jacob was the surprise hottie... can't wait to see more of him (not necessarily his character). I thought Alice was adorable but Rosalee wasn't my favorite. I am so excited they are moving forward with New Moon. Thanks to Mom and Breanna for arguing the differences between the movie and book and to Beth for putting up with us.

Fondue

Bobby made me an awesome cheese fondue on Saturday. He even made a chocolate fondue for dessert. I am so impressed by his amazing kitchen skills.

25 Years of Lucky

So yesterday I turned 25 years old. Yikes. 25 is a quarter of my life... if I make it to 100. So rather than freaking out about being so old, I am focusing on how lucky I am to have had such a blessed life. First, I have the most amazing family. Thanks to my mom for giving birth to me... which was no easy task at over 9 pounds. She continues to amaze me with her understanding of everything I have ever gone through while never failing to make me laugh. My dad is my hero. He really is the most kind and loving person I have ever met in my life. So together my parents are the super couple who have given me the perfect childhood... and beyond.

Beth is my best friend and I love her and her family with all my heart. I am so lucky to have grown up with her as my example. Boone is a constant source for laughter. Some of the things he comes up with... I admire Breanna for her strength and independence. My family really has made my life so full and happy. Thanks to my siblings for making our house such a fun place to grow up.

I am also blessed to have such good friends. Kristy has been an amazing friend from the awkwardness of being a high schooler to trying to become our own person in college. She has been there for me through it all. I am so lucky I can just pick up the phone and tell her about anything. There is not a word for my relationship with Brenn. What do you call someone who is closer then a best friend or cousin. Well that is Brenn and love her fiercely and completely. I am so lucky that I can have her in my life forever.

And then I met Bobby. I don't think there is another man in the world who could be better suited for me. He is so strong in ways that I am not. He is so funny and would do anything to make me happy. I really do look forward to seeing him everyday when we get home from work. I love his family and am so lucky to have such nice in-laws. I have a great job and wonderful home. My first 25 years have been amazing. Thanks to everyone and I look forward to the next 25.

Hiking

Saturday after work Bobby and I decided to go on a drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon. We wanted to take a look at the ski resorts and go on a little hike. We really don't know anywhere to go hiking so we just had our eyes peeled for a trailhead sign. We found one and just decided to try it out. It ended up taking us to this cute little waterfall. It turned out to be a great hike!

Here I am at the top of the waterfall. We climbed these rocks to get up here. Bobby was so afraid that I was going to slip and fall.

Congratulations Bobby

At 12:00pm today Bobby was sworn in and is now officially an attorney. Rob, Fumi, Sharon, Nancy, and I came out to support him.  The ceremony took place at the Salt Palace.  Afterwards we went and had lunch at Simply Thai with Bobby's co-workers.   We had a great day and are so happy to finally be done.  Thanks to everyone for their support.  Great job Bobby!  I am so proud of you and all of your hard work.

Happy Birthday Act 1

Fumi and Tom had a birthday dinner for Bobby and Rob on Sunday. We had HUGE T-bone steaks and they each had a cute little birthday cake. Bobby's grandparents are so sweet and we are so lucky to be able to spend so much time with them.

Adventures in Creature

This weekend my Mom, Beth, and kids came to visit. We played games, watched movies, shopped and had an all around fun weekend. Saturday we went to Cornbelly's the corn maze at Thanksgiving Point. The kids rode the cow train and we all went through the corn maze. The best part of the trip was "Creature". We told Kolten and Kaylee about it before we got there and they were excited to go through. Once they saw it they weren't so brave. Kolten went through with Bobby and I took Kolby. It was pretty freaky because it is so dark and you really can't tell where to go. Kolten was absolutely terrified but to his credit he did make it through. Beth got the nerve to go through so I went with her. There was this part when you are in creatures stomach when air shoots out hits your neck and Beth and I screamed super loud. We didn't hear anyone else screaming if that tells you anything.

I Looked Out the Window...

We woke up this morning and were laying in bed wondering what to do with the day. Should we go on a bike ride this afternoon? We looked out the window and low and behold there is three inches of snow on the ground. The first snow of the year and I am SO not ready for it. Sure there are things I love about the snow like skiing, drinking hot chocolate, and wearing cozy clothes. There are also things I loathe about snow such as: slick roads, waiting for the car to warm up, cold toes, and that little pelty snow that stings. Well, ready or not the snow is here.

Bobby's New Office

This is Bobby's office with his new furniture. He get's sworn in on October 23rd and then he will be a "real lawyer". I am so proud of him! I am such a lucky girl.

Fall is Here!

Bobby took me on a scenic drive through the Alpine Loop to Park City. The leaves were changing so it was super pretty. It rained all day and I mean ALL day long. We had fun taking pictures from the car. We stopped in Sundance, Heber, and Park City. It was such a fun day!

We stopped in Heber and got milkshakes at Granny's. This was the small. Yum!

Kolby's Birthday

My nephew Kolby had his first birthday party this weekend. He has gotten so big! We are lucky that we live so close now that we can attend all the big events. He is such a sweet boy and as you can see he loved his birthday cake.

My dad took us out on the boat Saturday moring to do some water skiing. The water was so cold that there was no way I was getting in. I did get a picture of Shane and Dad when they hit the water...priceless!

Bikes and Salsa

Every Sunday we got to Bobby's Grandparents for dinner. They always load us up with TONS of veggies from their garden. Tom (Bobby's grandpa) used to be a farmer so he has this huge amazing garden. Well we never quite know what to do with all those veggies so lately we have been making and canning salsa. It's a lot of fun and Bobby is the salsa king.

Here are some pictures of Tom, Fumi, and their garden

We went biking on the Jordan River Parkway on Friday. I loaded the bikes and put on the rack all by myself... Bobby was impressed. We started at 126th and thought it would take us all the way to Thanksgiving Point but it stopped before that. We did get to see some deer.
